Clinical Psychologist
Individual therapy with a Clinical Psychologist $260 per session.
Therapy for eating disorders $275 per session.
If you have a Medicare Referral from your GP, you’re entitled to a rebate (currently $131.65 per session).
If you don’t have a Medicare Referral from your GP but you do have psychological extras cover with your private health fund you may be able to claim some of the cost back. Please check with your health fund provider.
Registered Psychologist
Individual therapy with a Registered Psychologist $220 to $242 per session.
Therapy for eating disorders $275 per session.

If you don’t have a Medicare Referral from your GP but you do have psychological extras cover with your private health fund you may be able to claim some of the cost back. Please check with your health fund provider.
Provisional Psychologist
Individual therapy with a Registered Psychologist is $115 per session
No rebates apply
Medicare Rebate
Your GP will need to complete a Mental Health Care Plan (item 2710), lodge this with Medicare and provide you with a referral letter. You must bring both the Mental Health Care Plan and the GP referral letter to your first appointment.
A Medicare referral provides a rebate for up to 20 sessions per calendar year. After the first 6 sessions, if treatment is to continue, you’ll need to return to your GP for a review. Your psychologist will send a letter to the GP advising of your progress to date and the need for future treatment.
Private Health Rebate
If you have Private Health Insurance, it is possible that your cover includes psychological services. Please check with your Private Health Insurance Provider direct and quote the code 200.
You don't need a GP referral if you want to claim with Private Health.
At the end of each session you'll receive a receipt so you can claim the rebate direct with your provider
Payment
Payment for face-to-face and telehealth consults is required at the end of your session.
Accepted methods of payment: Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard).
