The Balmain Practice provides clinical psychology services to individuals, couples, children, adolescents and families.  Our highly qualified team of clinical psychologists and registered psychologists has extensive experience in assisting patients to address clinical concerns, resolve issues, cope with life events, navigate difficult situations, and restore balance to their lives.

 

We take a warm, friendly and collaborative approach to therapy and provide a safe and relaxed environment for our patients to reach their therapeutic goals.  

 

Our psychologists abide by the ethics of the Australian Psychological Society and use a wide variety of evidence-based and contemporary treatment modalities and therapies.

 

We offer face-to-face appointments at our practice in Darling Street, Balmain, tele-health online sessions, or a combination of both.

Contact The Balmain Practice either by phone or by completing the Like to get started form below.  We'll match you with a suitable psychologist in the practice, or you can nominate the psychologist of your choice.   

 

Alternatively, if you'd like to speak to Dr Janine personally before taking your next steps, we can arrange an appointment for a complementary 15 minute phone consultation.

BOOKING

We will book a first appointment for you on a day and time that suits and send you a Welcome Pack containing important information about what to expect and what you can do to get the most out of therapy.

PREPARATION

Take time to read your Welcome Pack.  It contains all the information you need to be ready for your first appointment. Make sure you’re early for your appointment, regardless of whether it’s face-to-face or on-line.  Allow time to gather your thoughts, make a cup of tea or coffee, take a few deep breaths and relax before your session.

APPOINTMENT

Your first appointment is where you raise your issues or concerns and express what you’re hoping to achieve from therapy. It’s also a time for you and your psychologist to start to get to know each other and establish open rapport. Your psychologist will outline a Treatment Plan and set-up further appointments for you to receive therapy and work towards your therapeutic goals.
